Widely regarded as one of the greatest pure scorers in NBA history, Bernard King spent five seasons with the New York Knicks where in 1984 he was the first player in 20 years to record back-to-back 50 point games and became the 10th player score 60 points in a game during a Christmas Day matchup against the Nets. Only a freak knee injury in March of 1985 derailed what might have been one of the best offensive players in history. King was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013.

     After missing the entire 1985-86 campaign with that knee injury, King returned during the 1986-87 season where he wore this New York Knicks blue road mesh jersey. This size 42 (+3” LB) Sand-Knit jersey features “NEW YORK” sewn across the chest in orange and white tackle twill with King’s number 30 is sewn below in orange and white tackle twill and the NBA logo is embroidered on the upper left shoulder. The Sand-Knit tags, along with the “3” LB” tags are sewn on the bottom front left tail. The back of the jersey has “KING” sewn on in white tackle twill with his number “30” sewn on in orange and white tackle twill. According to jersey expert Dave Miedema, after examining this jersey, he concluded that this jersey appears to be a pre-1985 jersey with the NBA logo added that was used for the 1986-87 season by King based on the tag designs and fonts. King signed his name in black marker on the top of the “3” on the back of the jersey. This jersey comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B53104) and a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
