Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar wore these white, purple, and gold Adidas sneakers during multiple games of the 1987 NBA Finals. Abdul-Jabbar’s Lakers matched up against their hated rivals, the Boston Celtics, in a classic NBA Finals matchup with a little mean streak. The Lakers, led by the “Showtime” trio of Magic Johnson, Abdul-Jabbar, and James Worthy, were an offensive juggernaut during this six-game NBA Finals.

Abdul-Jabbar, Johnson, and Worthy all averaged over 20 points per game during these finals, with the 39-year old Abdul-Jabbar contributing 21.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Abdul-Jabbar’s best game of the series came in the clinching sixth game, when he led the Lakers with 32 points on 13-18 shooting in the Lakers 106-93 victory. Magic Johnson claimed the Finals MVP award after averaging a double-double of 26.2 points and 13 assists per game.

These low-top Adidas sneakers are primarily white, purple and gold trim to match Los Angeles’ timeless uniforms. An Adidas “Made in France” tag is sewn on each tongue, while a purple Adidas logo is applied to each heel. The soles are purple and white, and the inside of the shoe is accented with purple. Abdul-Jabbar has signed the outside instep of each shoe in black pen. These shoes come with a LOA from the MeiGray Group, who have photo matched these shoes using Getty Images #1737086, #99035711, #74586270, #584180682, and #97583633. An individual LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication covers each of Abdul-Jabbar’s signatures.
