Arguably the greatest New York Mets team ever, the 1986 squad combined to use tremendous talent (especially on the mound) with a little luck to win the 1986 World Series. As the leading slugger on that team, Darryl Strawberry banged out 27 home runs during the regular season, plus three more in the post season. This gray V-neck pullover road jersey has the team nickname “Mets” in cursive script across the chest, with the number “18” below. Each sleeve and both sides are trimmed in two orange stripes sandwiched around a slightly larger blue stripe, and the left sleeve contains the Mets 25th Anniversary patch. This was the final season the Mets wore their nickname on road grays, switching to “New York” in 1987. The lower front tail has the “W.A. Goodman & Sons” size “42” manufacturers tag. The reverse has his name “STRAWBERRY” on a gray nameplate with his number “18” below. All lettering and numbers are stitched on the jersey in blue-on-orange tackle twill. The Strawman has applied a bold, blue Sharpie signature on the reverse. This is a classic jersey of one of the most dynamic Mets players of all time, during ne of the organizations greatest season. LOA form Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert and COA from PSA/DNA for the signature.
