Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a consummate winner. Aside from setting the NBA’s all-time scoring record, Kareem was a three-time NCAA champion and a six-time NBA champion. The Hall of Famer’s last of his six NBA titles came with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1987-88, when at the age of 40, was a key contributor to the Lakers outlasting the Detroit Pistons in a hard-fought seven-game series.

For the regular season, Kareem played in 80 games, averaging a solid 14.6 points per game as the Lakers finished the NBA’s best record at 62-20. This offered home yellow Lakers’ jersey was worn by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar during the 1987-88 season and has been photo matched to five games at the Great Western Forum. The games this jersey has been photo matched to include the November 8th game against the Houston Rockets, where Kareem scored 11 points in the Lakers 101-92 victory. The next game was the November 15th home contest against the San Antonio Spurs, where the Lakers cruised to a 147-130 win, with Kareem scoring 19 points. The third game as a 142-115 blowout victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on November 17th with Kareem scoring 12 points. The fourth game took place on November 20th against the Dallas Mavericks with Abdul-Jabbar dropping 12 points in the Lakers 119-116 win. The final game this jersey was photo matched to was the November 22nd game against Kareem’s former team, the Milwaukee Bucks. Abdul-Jabbar scored 10 points in a losing effort as Milwaukee defeated Los Angeles 124-116.

This heavy mesh yellow jersey features “LAKERS” and Kareem’s number “33” sewn on the front in purple and white tackle twill. The “Sand-Knit” size 44 manufacturer’s tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail, along with a “4 “LB” and “87” patches. The NBA logo is embroidered on the upper left chest. The back of the jersey has “ABDUL-JABBAR” arched across the back, above his number “33” – both sewn on in purple and white tackle twill. The open sleeves and neck have a white/purple/white pattern in a ribbed material. Kareem has signed his name in black marker between his name and number on the back of the jersey. This jersey displays moderate game use and comes with a LOA from Lakers’ Equipment Manager Rudy Garciduenas on Lakers’ letterhead, along with a LOA from The MeiGray Group (154227) for the game use. The MeiGray Group has photo matched this jersey to the aforementioned five games. Additionally, there is a COA from Beckett Authentication Services (F06022) for Abdul-Jabbar’s signature.
