Xavier McDaniel jerseys in any team are difficult to come by. This Seattle Supersonics exemplar is one of the few we have seen, let alone being photo matched by MeiGray to an NBA game.

Seattle SuperSonics All-Star small forward Xavier McDaniel wore this jersey during the 1987-88 NBA season. It has been photo matched by the MeiGray Group to an undated Getty Image (89218912) taken during a game against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Great Western Forum. Due to the presence of Kurt Rambis and Wes Matthews, MeiGray have determined that this jersey was worn during either a December 20th, 1987 game or an April 5th, 1988 game. The December 20th game finished with a score of 103-94 in favor of the Lakers, with McDaniel recording a near-triple double of 23 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists. The Lakers won the April 5th rematch, defeating the Sonics by a score of 94-90. In this game, McDaniel recorded 16 points, with five rebounds and four assists for the Sonics. McDaniel made the only All-Star Game of his career in 1987-88, putting up per game averages of 21.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.

This jersey is green, with an arced white Sand-Knit field across the chest and back shoulders. “SONICS” is screen printed in green text across the Sand-Knit portion of the chest, and “McDANIEL” is screen printed in green text across the section of the back made of the Sand-Knit fabric. McDaniel’s number “34” is screen printed on the chest and back in yellow and white numerals. An NBA logo patch is sewn on the left chest. SuperSonics Sand-Knit, Sand-Knit size “44”, “2[inch] LB”, and “87” tags are sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. “34” is written in black marker on the size “44” tag. McDaniel has signed the chest of this jersey in black marker. This item comes with a COA from JSA (T58504) for the signature, and a LOA from the MeiGray Group (153046) for game use.
