After finishing the 1987 regular season with a record of 77-63, the Columbus Clippers - managed by Bucky Dent – went on the win the Governors’ Cup as champion of the International League. The Clippers (the New York Yankees’ AAA affiliate) were powered by Jay Buhner (.279 average, 31 home runs, 85 RBIs) and Orestes Destrade (25 HRs, 81 RBIs). On the mound, Brad Arnsberg finished 12-5 with a 2.88 ERA.

Presented here is a 1987 Columbus Clippers Governors’ Cup Championship ring, manufactured by Jenkins and made up of 10K gold. The face features a round CZ set atop a beautiful blue stone. “GOVERNORS’ CUP 1987 CHAMPION” reads in relief work around the bezel setting. The right shank of the ring displays the Yankees “NY” logo, with the name “LERNER” above it. Centering the opposite shank is the team logo; the name “CLIPPERS” appears at the top. The inside of the band shows JENKINS 10K marks. This ring is an approximate size 11, weighs approximately 21.7 grams and comes with owner's original purchase LOA.
