Talk about a pitching duel! The 1987 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was tied at 0-0 after 12 innings, even though the game featured such players as Darryl Strawberry, Rickey Henderson, Don Mattingly, Mike Schmidt, Cal Ripken, Jr., Ryne Sandberg and Mark McGwire. The best pitchers in the game – including Mike Scott, Orel Hershiser, Rick Sutcliffe, Bret Saberhagen and Jack Morris – were able to keep batters at bay. Finally, the NL broke through for two runs in the 13th inning to win the ballgame, 2-0. Tim Raines went 3-for-3 and drove in both runs to win the MVP of the game, played in Oakland, California.

Offered here is a 1987 MLB All-Star ring, manufactured by Jostens. It features a beautiful large blue stone and MLB logo on its face. “MAJOR LEAGUE ALL-STAR” appears around the bezel setting in raised letters. The American League logo is displayed on the left shank while the 1987 All-Star Game logo is shown on the other side of the band. Inside of the ring is marked JOSTENS QGT. This ring – which comes complete with the original presentation box – is an approximate size 10 and weighs approximately 21.9 grams.
