The Twins defeated the St. Louis Cardinals four games to three to win their first World Series. Twins pitcher Frank Viola was named as the 1987 World Series MVP. Tom Kelly, the manager of the ’87 Twins, has signed his name on the sweet spot in blue ink. Hall of Famers Bert Blyleven and Kirby Puckett have signed this ball, along with the signatures of coach Rick Stelmaszek, Dan Gladden, and Gene Larkin in blue ink, and Sal Butera and Don Baylor in black ink.
