The 1987 MLB season saw the Minnesota Twins win their franchise’s first World Series title since 1924, when they were the Washington Senators and Walter Johnson anchored their rotation. This time around, the rotation of Burt Blyleven, Frank Viola, and Joe Niekro pitched the Twins to the Commissioner’s Trophy. The Twins defeated Whitey Herzog and the Cardinals in the World Series, winning in a full seven games. Frank Viola, the winner of Game 1 and Game 7, earned MVP honors for his performance.
This Official American League Bobby Brown baseball has been signed by 30 members of the 1987 Twins. Hall of Famers Kirby Puckett and Bert Blyleven signed this ball, with first-year manager Tom Kelly signing the sweet spot.
