Following in the footsteps of Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski, Jim Rice was the next superstar and Hall of Famer to man Fenway Park’s left field. Rice was the dominant force of the mid-to-late 1970s Red Sox teams and was the 1978 American League MVP. He used this Louisville Slugger C243 model bat during his last two summers in Boston in 1988 and 1989. The bat shows heavy use. Its barrel is covered with ball marks and stich impressions along with bat rack paint streaks and scuffs from contact with other equipment. The lower handle and center brand have a heavy coat of pine tar applied giving this gamer a real “been there” look. This bat comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13709) for the game use.
