Offered is Nick Anderson’s 1988-1989 University of Illinois Final Four participant and Rebounds plaque presented by the Fighting Illini to the former student-athlete. The 3 x 9 x 12-inch dark brown woodgrain award includes a 4½ x 6-inch gold metal plaque and 1½ x 3 x 7½-inch figural basketball player. The gold metal plaque is engraved with the legend “University of Illinois Final Four 31-5 Rebounds 285 Nick Anderson 1988-89”. The University of Illinois men’s basketball team advanced to the Final Four of the 1989 NCAA Basketball Championship, losing to eventual National Champion Michigan, 83-81 at the Kingdome in Seattle, Washington. The Fighting Illini finished with a 31-5 overall record, while Anderson, then a junior, collected 285 total rebounds that season.
