The 1988 Los Angeles Lakers won their second consecutive NBA Championship, outlasting the Detroit Pistons in seven games. This ring was produced for (and purchased by) company salesmen to “display” their wares to new clients. This Balfour 10K gold ring has a large diamond on top of a Laker-purple base, surrounded by 18 smaller diamonds, surrounded by “WORLD CHAMPION LAKERS 1988” in raised relief on the perimeter. The one shank has the name “JOHNSON” with the Lakers logo and the NBA Finals tally “LAKERS 4 PISTONS 3.” The other shank contains the term “BACK to BACK” with the title years “1987 1988” and the NBA logo. This size 12 ring weighs 36 grams, and has “SSA-18257” and “LGB 10K” engraved within the band. Excellent condition. Please note: Like all salesman sample rings, the stones in the ring are CZ, NOT diamonds.
