Presented here is a signed ticket stub from the Beatrice Western Open signed by basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan and Pro Football Hall of Famer Walter Payton. The Western Open was the second-oldest tournament on the PGA tour. Founded in 1899, it pre-dated the PGA tour, which began in 1916 by 17 years. Beatrice Foods Company began sponsoring the event in 1987, and this presented ticket is from 1988 that was held at the Butler National Golf Club in Oak Brook, Illinois. Jim Benepe won the open, shooting 10 under par for a score of 278. This presented ticket stub is labeled “BEATRICE WESTERN OPEN” at the top of the blue ticket in black lettering. The details, date, and location of the club are featured on the midsection of the ticket stub. “PAVILION” is stamped across the front of the ticket in red. The reverse of the ticket is labeled “Hunt-Wesson” and “Swift-Eckrich”, providers of food products and snacks. Payton and Jordan signed the reverse side of the stub in blue ink. “Walter Payton” and “Michael Jordan” appear written next to their names in black ink by an unknown hand. The ticket features perforations from being torn, and the signatures are bold and clear. The signed ticket stub comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (83847800) for the signatures and was graded AUTHENTIC AUTO.
