Offered here is a 9 x 12-inch plaque presented to College Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz to commemorate Holtz for his 23-game winning streak from 1988-1989 that also saw the 1988 Notre Dame Fighting Irish win the National Title. The winning streak stands as the longest in Notre Dame history. The green plaque rests on a sheet of gold aluminum on a wooden base. A gold circular crucifix rests atop the plaque. A gold circular football helmet with a football emblem rests on the bottom of the plaque. The plaque is labeled "THE FIGHTING IRISH LOU HOLTZ" at the top engraved in gold. "NATIONAL CHAMPIONS AND THE LONGEST WINNING STREAK IN THE HISTORY OF NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL AMEN" with "ROSE BOWL" and "ORANGE BOWL" engraved below. The plaque contains scratches at the top and a dent on the bottom of the frame. The item comes directly from the personal collection of Lou Holtz and is accompanied by an LOA from Holtz, plus 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
