Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this plaque in honor of his breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record in 1984. Abdul-Jabbar broke Wilt Chamberlain’s scoring record during a game against the Utah Jazz on April 5th, 1984 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Abdul-Jabbar scored 22 in that game, leading the Lakers to a 129-115 jersey over the Jazz. Over the next several years, Abdul-Jabbar increased his career points total to 38,387, still the most in NBA history. This plaque measures 24 x 20 inches and is etched in high-relief with “Presented To / Kareem Abdul-Jabbar / October 18, 1988 / For breaking the / N.B.A. All-Time Scoring Record / 31,421 Points / Utah Jazz vs L.A. Lakers / Thursday April 5, 1984 / Thomas & Mack Center / Las Vegas, Nevada”. A Pepsi-Cola logo is etched in high relief on the upper portion of this plaque. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
