Hall of Fame shortstop Cal Ripken Jr. wore this black Baltimore Orioles cap during the 1989 MLB season. Ripken, in his ninth MLB season, hit 21 homers with 93 RBI as he led the Orioles to an 87-75 record and a second-place finish in the AL East. Ripken made the seventh of his 19 career All-Star Games in 1989. This all-black cap has the Orioles bird logo embroidered on the front. The inner sweatband has an “Authentic Diamond Collection” and “New Era” tags. Ripken’s number “8” is handwritten in black marker on the green underside brim and Ripken has signed his name of this approximate size 7 3/8 cap in blue pen underneath his number. This cap shows excellent use with sweat stains. This cap comes with a LOA from JT Sports for game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A18686) for Ripken’s signature.
