Danny Ainge, the current President of Basketball Operations for the Boston Celtics, was a gritty hard-nosed player during his playing career, which was spent mostly with the Celtics. Ainge won two titles with Boston (1984 and 1986) and was also a good baseball player, being drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1977 and making the team in 1979. Ainge still holds the Blue Jays record for being the youngest player to hit a home run. Ainge spent the first seven full seasons of his career with the Celtics, before being traded to the Sacramento Kings in February of 1989.
This offered home white Boston Celtics mesh jersey was worn by Ainge during the 1989-90 season, his last with the Celtics. This size 46 Sand-Knit jersey features “CELTICS” arched across the chest and Ainge’s number “44” sewn on in green tackle twill. The Sand-Knit tag and “89” tag are sewn on the base of the front left tail. The NBA logo is embroidered on the upper left shoulder and the open neck and sleeves are bordered in a green/white/green pattern. The back of the jersey has “AINGE” and “44” sewn on in green tackle twill. Ainge signed his name in black marker below his number on the back of the jersey and inscribed “To Audrey”. This jersey displays moderate game use with slight discoloration on the left front, left side and back, giving it a cream-colored look. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema and a COA from Beckett Authentication Services for Ainge’s signature.
