Beautiful un-cracked bat dates from mid-point of Cal Ripken, Jr.’s consecutive game’s played record. This 1989 Louisville Slugger model P72 is made to Ripken’s specifications of 34” and 31.4oz. The Iron Man batted .257 and hit 21 home runs that year and was voted onto his 7th consecutive All-Star team. One of the Baltimore Orioles’ most popular players of all time, Ripken’s famed number “8” is written in black marker on the knob. Present on the barrel are several ball marks and stitch imprints along with blue ink transfers. There are black marks from its contact with other bats and pine tar moderately coats the handle. A wonderful piece of memorabilia from the middle part of Ripken’s Hall of Fame career. Letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. Multiple images and LOAs available at goldinauctions.com.
