Offered in this lot is the net from the NCAA Tournament Regional Finals game between the University of Illinois and Syracuse University on March 26th, 1989 at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis. Illinois, the top seed in the Midwest Region, defeated Syracuse, the second seed, in a thrilling 89-86 contest. Trailing by seven at halftime, the Illini got hot in the second half thanks to the scoring exploits of Kenny Battle (28 points) and Nick Anderson (24 points). Anderson added 16 rebounds in a dominant performance, while Kendall Gill had an all-around fantastic performance with 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals as Illinois made their fourth Final Four in school history. This offered net is in good condition. It comes with an LOA from MEARS showing the net draped around Nick Anderson’s neck and shoulders.
