Willie Randolph was a standout player for the New York Yankees. A member of the 1977 and 1978 World Series-winning teams, Randolph was a steady presence at second base and at the plate. Randolph finished his career with 2,210 hits. After 13 seasons with the Yankees, Randolph signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers to start the 1989 season. Throughout his distinguished career, Randolph received many awards and in 1989, Randolph was presented with the Los Angeles Dodgers Most Valuable Player Award. This award has a 9 x 12-inch wood base with a black plate that features an image of Randolph running on the base paths in his Dodger uniform. The plate has printed in gold “WILLIE RANDOLPH MOST VALUABLE PLAYER 1989 DODGERS B.B.W.A.A. February 11, 1990.” This award comes from the collection of Willie Randolph and a signed LOA from Randolph will also accompany this item.
