Longtime Major League pitcher Mark Langston wore this Montreal Expos road jersey during his only season with the team, in 1989. A mid-season acquisition from the Seattle Mariners, Langston started 24 games for the Expos. And he finished the season with a miniscule 2.39 ERA, leading the National League in strikeouts per nine innings. In his 24 starts, Langston threw six complete games and four shutouts.
This powder blue button down jersey has “expos” and a “M” logo patch sewn on the right side of the jersey. Langston’s number “12” is sewn on the right chest and the back of the jersey in blue and red tackle twill, the same coloring as “expos”. Blue and red stripes run down the sleeves and sides of the jersey. A Rawlings size “46” tag is sewn on the back inside collar. A “Set 1 1989” flag is attached. This jersey was likely an extra jersey issued to Langston after his mid-season trade. This accounts for the lack of strip tagging and appliqué inconsistency. This item comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
