Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware wore this white Detroit Lions road jersey during his first NFL game on October 14th, 1990 against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Ware, the seventh overall pick in the 1990 NFL Draft, replaced struggling starter Bob Gagliano and completed four of his seven passes for 65 yards and an eight-yard touchdown strike to running back James Wilder. The Chiefs won this game 43-24 despite Barry Sanders’ big day of 90 rushing yards, 135 receiving yards, and two touchdowns.
This offered Lions road jersey is white, with Ware’s number “11” printed on the chest, back, and shoulders in blue and silver tackle twill. “WARE” is sewn across the back shoulders in blue tackle twill over a matching white nameplate. A MacGregor logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve and a MacGregor Sand-Knit size “46” tag is sewn on the front left tail below a Lions tag. This jersey has been photo matched to the October 14th game by RGU, who have provided a LOA.
