Offered here is a game used Baltimore Orioles hat worn by Cal Ripken Jr. circa 1990 and signed by the Hall of Famer in black ink. Cal Ripken, Jr. was the undisputed star of the Orioles by 1990. His bat, coupled with his flawless fielding, made him one of the A.L.'s most exciting players. When he wore this hat, Cal was joined on the O's by his father, Cal, Sr., a coach, and his younger brother Billy, both Ripken boys, hit 28 doubles that summer, tying for the team lead.
This presented black hat features the Orioles logo on the front and an MLB logo on the back. An MLB AUTHENTIC DIAMOND COLLECTION tag appears on the inside sweatband. A New Era Pro Model tag appears on the inside sweatband. A size "7 3/8" flag appears on the inside sweatband. Ripken Jr. signed the inside brim in black ink. The number "8" appears on the inside brim in black ink inscribed by an unknown hand. The signature is slightly faded. The hat displays minor evidence of game use and contains faint stains on the inside sweatband and a small white stain on the brim. The item comes with an LOA from J.T. Sports (1472) and a COA from Beckett Authentication (AA56463) for the signature.
