Darryl Strawberry was a run-producing machine in his prime who finished with 1,000 career RBI, three World Series titles with the New York Mets and Yankees and eight All-Star bids. In 1983, Strawberry was named National League Rookie of the Year. This signed white-and-blue pinstriped, pullover New York Mets game used jersey was worn by Strawberry in a 1990 season that saw him finish with 37 home runs and a career-high 108 RBI. Strawberry’s signature appears in black Sharpie on the front of the jersey below “Mets” and to the left of his number “18,” both of which appear in blue-on-orange tackle twill. “STRAWBERRY” appears across the back of the jersey with his number “18” below in blue-on-orange tackle twill. The inside front tail of the jersey features a “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with size “44” with two white strip tags that read “1 inch EXTRA LENGTH” and “90 1 18,” indicating size modifications and the jersey’s year, set and Strawberry’s number. A tag affixed to the “90 1 18” strip tag reads “SET 1 1990,” indicating the jersey’s series. The right sleeve of the jersey has “Rawlings” stitched in white. The jersey exhibits evidence of light game use and appears to be all original. The jersey comes with an LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
