Darryl Strawberry, a three-time World Series champion and 1983 National League Rookie of the Year, was a run-producing machine in his prime who finished with 1,000-career RBI while playing in eight All-Star games.
This signed white-and-blue pinstriped, pullover New York Mets game used jersey was worn by Strawberry in a 1990 season that saw him knock in a career-high 108 runs with 37 homers. Strawberry’s signature appears in blue Sharpie on the front of the jersey below his number “18,” which along with the “Mets” logo across the chest, is stitched in blue-on-orange tackle twill. “STRAWBERRY” appears across the back of the jersey with his number “18” below, also in blue-on-orange tackle twill. The inside front tail of the jersey features a “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with size “44” with a white strip tags that reads “90 2 18,” indicating the jersey’s year, set and Strawberry’s number. The right sleeve of the jersey has “Rawlings” stitched in white. The jersey exhibits evidence of light game use and appears to be all original. The jersey comes with an LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
