Hall of Famer and the NBA’s all-time leading scorer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this offered award in 1990 by the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame. Known for his prowess at UCLA and later the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers, Abdul-Jabbar was a product of New York City, where his Power Memorial High School team won 71 games in a row. This award has an acrylic base with a basketball net design that is 2-inches thick and measures 9-inches at the bottom and 12-inches long at the top and is 12-inches tall. Etched in red on the lower left side of the base is “INAUGURAL INDUCTION CEREMONY SEPTEMBER 18, 1990 KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR PLAYER TAVERN ON THE GREEN NEW YORK”. Mounted on top is an 11-inch round brown piece that reads “NEW YORK CITY BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME, INC.” and “THE CITY GAME”. The award is in overall good condition. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
