Somehow, somewhere, Ryne Sandberg found the key to power hitting in 1990. The Cubs second baseman, up until then a solid singles man, found himself swinging an uber-potent bat that swatted 40 home runs at a .306 clip. This is one of the bats Ryno used during that 1990 season that set him on the path to the Hall of Fame. The Rawlings 256B model bat shows excellent use with a handle crack. The barrel displays several ball marks with stitch impressions and ink transfers. There are cleat marks and bat rack paint streaks throughout and a light coat of pine tar on the handle. The model number “256B” is stamped into the knob end and Ryno’s number “23” and “256B” are handwritten in black marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18457) for the game use.
