Scott Bradley was a journeyman catcher in the Major Leagues, playing nine seasons for the Yankees, Mariners, White Sox, and Reds. Bradley, the brother of former United States National Soccer Team coach Bob Bradley, used this Rawlings Adirondack Big Stick bat to record the final hit in the history of Comiskey Park during a 2-1 road loss to the Chicago White Sox. Comiskey Park served as the home of the White Sox from 1910 to 1990.

Bradley pinch hit for starting catcher Dave Valle in the bottom of the ninth inning of this game on September 30th, 1990. Bradley singled to right field off of White Sox closer Bobby Thigpen, using this bat. This bat, which bears Jay Buhner’s name engraved on the barrel, has a liberal helping of pine tar on the handle and shows excellent evidence of game use. Bradley inscribed the barrel “Bat used to record the last base hit at Chicago’s Comiskey Park 9/30/90” and “Hitter: Scott Bradley – Mariners / Pitcher: Bobby Thigpen – White Sox”. Bradley also signed the barrel in black marker, adding his number “9” to his signature.

Also included is the Bobby Brown Official American League baseball Bradley used to record the final hit at Comiskey Park. “Final Game At Comiskey Park” is inscribed in black pen on the sweet spot. Other inscriptions read “September 30th 1990 Final Game” and “The Last Base Hit In Comiskey Park Chicago”. This ball shows good evidence of game use. The bat and ball each come with a signed LOA from Scott Bradley.
