Plain and simple, boxer Mike Tyson was a complete wrecking ball in the ring. There may never have been a fiercer, harder-punching fighter in the sport’s history. Tyson burst onto the scene in 1985 as an 18-year-old and his matches very quickly became must-see viewing. In that year alone, Tyson incredibly fought in 15 bouts, winning every one of them with ease. None of those matches went past the fourth round, with an amazing 14 of those fights – including six consecutive - ending in the very 1st round.

Tyson was 27-0 with 26 K0s when he faced Trevor Berbick on November 22, 1986 in Las Vegas. Winning the WBC World Heavyweight Title with a second-round TKO of Berbick, Tyson – at the age of 20 – became the youngest heavyweight champ in boxing history. Tyson would later add both the WBA and IBF titles, while running his record to an astonishing 37-0 with 33 KOs, before he was infamously knocked out by James “Buster” Douglas in 1990. Despite losing three of his last four fights, Tyson finished his boxing career with a record of 50-6 with 44 knockouts. Presented here is dazzling 14K gold ring, featuring a wonderful relief image of “Iron Mike” on the face, along with a dozen small round diamonds. The words “TEAM TYSON” appear above/below the image of Tyson. Several dozen additional diamonds adorn the shanks of the ring. Approximate weight of this beauty is 35.5 grams, with the size approximately an 11 ¾.

Also included in this lot are black Everlast shorts that were worn in training by Mike Tyson. “Iron Mike” was legendary in the boxing world for his fanatical commitment to training, which started with a morning run around 4:30 am. Later in the day, Tyson would spar for ten, sometimes even 20 rounds to prepare for his fights. The satin shorts presented here feature “Mike Tyson” embroidered in white, cursive script on the left leg of the shorts and an American flag patch sewn on the right leg. The waistband of the size XL shorts features a black and white Everlast logo on the front and back of the trunks.
