No Mets pitcher since Tom Seaver brought as much excitement and victories to Shea Stadium as Dwight “Doc” Gooden. His 1985 season ranks up with the game’s best, and he was an important cog in the 1986 team that steamrolled their way to the world championship. This Louisville Slugger dates to Gooden’s final four seasons with the Mets. The Louisville Slugger C243 has been made game-ready and shows no game use. There are some bat rack paint streaks on the barrel along with abrasions from contact with other equipment. Doc’s immortal number “16” is handwritten on the knob in black and the Mets ace has signed the barrel in bold black marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18199) for being game ready and LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A52151) for the signature.
