1991 was the Hall of Famer Frank Thomas' first full year and he just missed out on the MVP Award - going .318 with 32 home runs and 109 RBI. He led the American League in on-base percentage and won the first of four Silver Slugger Awards. The Louisville Slugger C243 model bat displays outstanding use with a cracked handle that has been glued. Some checking from repeated ball contact is present on the back barrel and many ball marks with stitch impressions can be seen. Ball marks include both blue and black ink transfers. The variety of ink color suggests that Thomas used this bat in spring training since National League balls at the time used black ink and this bat predates inter-league play. A heavy coat of pine tar is on the center brand and Thomas’ number “35” has been hand written on the knob in black marker. The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker adding his number “35.” This bat comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (1B02410) for the game use and signature.
