Used by Kirk Gibson during his injury-shortened 1991 season with the Royals, this Cooper WC137 model bat is un-cracked and displays outstanding use. There is some very light checking from repeated ball contact on the front barrel and numerous ball marks with stitch impressions and white leather ball scuffs cover the barrel. Cleat marks are found on all sides of the bat and there is the impression of a weighted batting donut. A heavy coat of pine tar is on the handle and the bat’s length “35” and weight “34oz” are stamped into the knob. The slugger has signed the barrel in silver marker, adding, “John My Best KC.”  The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16388) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10, plus a COA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
