Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn wore this uniform set (jersey and pants) during the 1991 season, a season where Gwynn batted .317 and had 168 hits in 134 games. This gray, button-down San Diego road jersey features “SAN DIEGO” across the front and Gwynn’s number “19” on the back in navy blue-and-white on orange tackle twill. “GWYNN” appears across the back of the jersey in navy blue tackle twill, while the inside front left tail of the jersey features a Rawlings manufacturer’s tag and a team strip tag that reads “2 1991”. The right sleeve of the jersey has a stitched navy blue Rawlings logo. Gwynn has signed the jersey in black marker above the “SAN DIEGO” on the front of the jersey below his number on the back. The jersey shows light use.

Also included in this lot is a pair of matching road gray San Diego Padres pants that were worn by Gwynn during the 1991 season. Like the jersey, these pants were manufactured by Rawlings with their logo embroidered in navy blue above the back left pocket. The inner waist lining has the Rawlings tag and the team strip tag that reads “19 38 28 91” and a “SET 2 1991” flag. Gwynn signed his name in black marker on the upper right front thigh. Both the jersey and pants come with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema and has been pre-certfied by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
