Hall of Fame center Alonzo Mourning wore this Charlotte Hornets jersey during the 1992-93 NBA season, his first in the NBA. The second overall pick in the 1992 NBA Draft, Mourning became a star the minute he donned Hornets colors. The former Georgetown star averaged a double-double of 21 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while recording 3.5 blocks per contest. Mourning finished second in the Rookie of the Year race to his future teammate Shaquille O’Neal, the first overall pick in the 1992 Draft. “Zo” led the Hornets to a playoff appearance in 1992-93, where they knocked off the Boston Celtics in the first round before losing to the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. Mourning would go on to play 16 seasons in the NBA after overcoming a potentially deadly kidney disease before retiring in 2009. In 2014, Mourning was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

This road jersey is teal, with blue and green pinstripes. “CHARLOTTE” and Mourning’s number “33” are sewn on the chest of the jersey in white and blue tackle twill. “MOURNING” and a second “33” are sewn on the back of the jersey in white and blue tackle twill. A NBA logo patch is sewn on the front left chest of the jersey. An NBA tag and a Champion size “50” tag are sewn on the front left tail of this jersey. This jersey, which shows light wear, comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
