The Chronic introduced a new audience to the “G-Funk” sound coming out of LA to immediate success, with “Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang” certified Platinum by the RIAA just three months after its release. The music video for “Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang” holds as much cultural cachet as the song itself, with the stars of the video Dr. Dre picking up Snoop Doggy Dogg in a blue drop top Impala before heading down the streets of LA to a block party. Dre and Snoop spend the day at the block party before driving to a house party elsewhere in LA. The music video ends with Dre dropping Snoop back off at his house, with the spent Snoop sauntering back into his home. This music video was controversial in its time, leading to MTV censoring a hefty amount of content in the video.

The master reel comes in the original 7 x 7.5-inch white box, with a Producers Post “Dr. Dre / ‘Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang’ / TRT 4:40 / 1 NTSC / Deathrow/Interscope / 12/1/92” sticker affixed to the side. A similar sticker is adhered to the reel. Written in fine-tip black marker on the box is “Dr. Dre Nuthin But A G Thang MTV”. The reel itself measures 6.5 inches in diameter. This unique item is a true piece of American musical history and an incredibly rare collector’s item.
