Held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 24, 1992, the 76th Indianapolis 500 saw the closest finish in race history, with Al Unser, Jr. barely holding off Scott Goodyear by 0.043 seconds to grab the victory. Al Unser, Sr. would finish the race in third place.
Offered here is a rare 10K gold 1992 Indianapolis 500 Winners salesman sample ring. Manufactured by Herff Jones, this ring features the number 500 - surrounded by a bed of CZs - on the face’s center. “INDIANAPOLIS WINNER” and images of racing flags appear around the perimeter in relief. An image of the waving of the checkered flag appears on one shank, along with the name “UNSER” and his # 3. The opposite shank commemorates the event’s 76th running and includes a fantastic depiction of the Indianapolis Speedway. The inside of this approximate size 11 ring is stamped “HJ 10K”. This item weighs an approximate 30.0 grams and comes with rare Herff Jones ring box.
