Mike Piazza was a late-season call up with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1992. Piazza walked and then doubled in his first two at-bats, then hit his first home run a week later. Though he only got into 21 games and hit an un-Piazza-like .232, the Dodgers like what they saw in him, and he would go on to win the NL’s Rookie of the Year Award the following season.
The Hall of Famer used this Louisville Slugger P72 during the very beginning of his career during his September 1992 call up. The Louisville Slugger P72 model bat shows heavy use and is un-cracked. The barrel has many ball marks and scuffs with cleat imprints and the impression of a weighted batting donut. Piazza’s number “25” is hand written on the knob and barrel ends in silver marker. The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel “To Chris: Best Wishes Always.” This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B07149) for the game use, and has been graded a perfect GU 10. There is also a LOA from JSA (Z76369) for the signature.
