The 1992 Pittsburgh Pirates advanced all the way to the National League Championship Series, where they faced off against the Atlanta Braves. In Game 7 of the NLCS, with Atlanta down 2-1 and the bases loaded, Francisco Cabrera cracked a single to score David Justice and a sliding Sid Bream, who narrowly beat a throw home from Pirates left fielder Barry Bonds. This loss doomed the Pirates, who would not have another winning season until 2013.

This William D. White Official National League baseball has been signed by 26 members of the 1992 Pirates, with manager Jim Leyland signing his name on the sweet spot. Other signatures include Barry Bonds, Andy Van Slyke, Doug Drabek, Alex Cole, Gary Redus, Steve Buechele, Jeff Robinson, Vicente Palacios, Zane Smith, Don Slaught, Bob Patterson, and several more. The signatures have been written in blue pen. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A03285).
