Vince Coleman spent the first six seasons of his big league career with the St. Louis Cardinals and was Rookie of the Year in 1985. Coleman joined the Cardinals National League East rival New York Mets before the start of the 1991 where he spent the next three seasons.
Offered is a New York Mets road gray button-down jersey worn by Coleman during the 1992 season in which he played only 71 games. This size 42 jersey has “NEW YORK” arched across the chest in block letters in blue, orange and white tackle twill. “COLEMAN” and his number “1” are sewn on in the same blue, orange and white pattern on the back of the jersey. Each sleeve has blue, orange and white stripes running vertically from the neck to the end of sleeve in a ribbed material. The same striping pattern runs down each side and the blue stripe is faded on both sides and each blue stripe on the arm is faded as well. A memorial circle patch with the letter “S” in black is sewn on the left sleeve for William A. Shea, who passed away in October of 1991. The Russell Athletic tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail along with a white tag that reads “92R”. This jersey shows moderate game use and comes with a LOA from Mears.
