For a time, it looked like Bo Jackson could do anything. As big a star on the gridiron as he was in the outfield, Jackson became a household name, even fronting his own line of Nike products. As could be expected, being a two-sport star had its consequences, and a hip injury suffered in the 1990 NFL Playoffs diminished his once boundless talents.
After hip replacement surgery, Jackson was picked up by the Chicago White Sox, and this Louisville Slugger O64 model bat dates to that period. Bo’s bat shows excellent use with a handle crack. The barrel shows checking from repeated ball contact and many ball marks. A spiral tape ring indicates that it was also used in batting practice, in addition to being used in games and has been removed from the barrel. Adhesive tape has been applied to the handle in a spiral pattern and a light coat of pine tar has been applied. “Bo” and his number “9” have been hand-written on the knob in silver. This bat comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (1B07518) for the game use and a Steiner COA for the signature.
