After a rocky start to his New York Mets career in 1992, after six seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Bobby Bonilla rebounded to his best season with the Mets in 1993. Bonilla hit a career-high 34 home runs and had 87 RBI as he earned his fifth All-Star selection. Bonilla wore this blue New York Mets batting helmet during the 1993 season.
This hat was manufactured by American Baseball Cap Company (ABC) and is a size 7 3/8 and displays heavy game use. The front of the helmet has the Mets interlocking “NY” in orange and an ear flap on the right ear for left-handed batters. The interior of the helmet has a brown leather headband pad and all of the padding is still intact. “BOB BO” is in white on a blue sticker that is affixed to the front of the brim and the back of the helmet. The MLB logo sticker is on the back of the helmet in blue, white and orange. Bonilla has signed this helmet on the right side in gold marker and inscribed “#25”. This helmet comes with a LOA from MEARS (316241) for the game use and a STICKER ONLY from JSA (K45589).
