Gary Sheffield was the National League’s starting third baseman in the 1993 All-Star Game at Baltimore’s new Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Sheff was representing the brand-new Florida Marlins and he did the new team proud by hitting a first inning home run off the Angels’ Mark Langston to get the NL on the board.
This is the bat Sheff used to hit that All-Star home run. The Mizuno 17 model bat show good game use with a cracked upper handle. The barrel shows many ball marks with stitch impressions and ink transfers along with abrasions and scuffs from contact with other equipment. The handle has a heavy coat of pine tar and a light coat extending into the center brand. Sheffield has signed the barrel in black markers adding: “Bat used to hit home run in All Star Game as a Marlin.” The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13268) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8, along with a COA from JSA (V16324) for the signature.
