Featured is a Thomas Jefferson First Day of Issue limited edition post card, autographed by former Soviet president, Mikhail Gorbachev. As Secretary General of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Gorbachev would act as the eighth and final leader of the Soviet Union until its dissolution in 1991. On April 13 1993, at the 250th Anniversary of Thomas Jefferson’s birth, Gorbachev gave a speech at the University of Virginia commemorating one of the United State’s founding fathers and one of the most influential figures in history. This First Day of Issue postcard is a limited edition 220/1000 and is signed by Gorbachev himself in blue ink. Included with this piece is an official Mikhail S. Gorbachev COA.
