Between 1994 – 1996, Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr. had a .283 batting average, averaged 19 home runs and 88 RBI in those four seasons. Ripken, in September of 1995, also surpassed what many believed was the unbreakable consecutive games streak held by Lou Gehrig. Ripken wore this black Baltimore Orioles cap with an orange brim between the 1994 through 1996 seasons. This 100% wool cap was manufactured by New Era and is a size 7 3/8. The Orioles bird logo is embroidered on the front in black, orange and a touch of white, while the brim is orange and the MLB logo is embroidered on the center back in Orioles’ colors. Displaying excellent game use, the inner lining is white and the underside of the brim is gray, which has Ripken’s number “8” hand written in black marker, which displays some smudging. Ripken signed his name in black marker below his hand-written number on the gray underside brim. This hat comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use and a LOA from JSA (Z61779) for the signature.
