Duke forward Grant Hill was the third overall pick of the 1994 NBA Draft, selected by the Detroit Pistons to bolster an offense that ranked 25th out of the 27 NBA teams in 1993-94. Hill was an immediate success, leading the team in scoring, with 19.9 points per game, in his rookie year. Hill contributed in every facet of the game, averaging five assists, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. The former Blue Devil was named the 1994-95 NBA Rookie of the Year and was selected to the first of his seven All-Star teams in 1994-95. In 2018, Hill was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame after a sterling 18-season career.

Offered here is a pair of white and blue Fila sneakers worn by Hill during his rookie season. These high-top shoes have “FILA” embroidered on the tongue, tongue strap, toe, and heel of each shoe. Hill’s number “33” is embroidered on a heel strap in blue numbers. These shoes show light wear and have no size indicated. Hill has signed the outside heel of each shoe in black marker, adding his number “33” to each signature.
