Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young wore this red San Francisco 49ers home jersey on January 7th, 1995, during the 49ers NFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Chicago Bears. Young led the 49ers, owners of a 13-3 regular season record, to a comfortable 44-15 victory against the Bears. The former BYU star passed for 143 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 32 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Young and the 49ers went on to win Super Bowl XXIX, defeating the San Diego Chargers in a 49-26 romp. During the 1994 regular season, Young led the NFL with a 70.3 completion percentage and 35 touchdowns against only 10 interceptions. He retired after the 1999 campaign and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.

This red home jersey has Young’s number “8” sewn on the chest and back in white and black tackle twill. “YOUNG” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill over a matching red nameplate. Two white stripes are screen printed on the sleeves, however the cut of Young’s sleeves occludes the second stripe at several locations. A Wilson logo patch is sewn on each sleeve. An NFL 75th anniversary patch is sewn on the left chest. A Wilson tag with an attached size “44” flag is sewn on the front left tail. This jersey shows light to moderate wear and displays a helmet mark on both the left and right shoulder. Young has signed this jersey twice, on the front and back “8”, in black marker. This jersey comes with a LOA from JSA (Z83389) for the signatures, as well as a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema and a LOA from Young’s teammate Ralph Tamm.
