In New York City sports history, there have been only a few who’s career and legend rival that of Derek Jeter.  Often mentioned in the same breath as Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle when talking about the All-time greats, it is unanimous Derek Jeter is deserving of all the praise.  A poised professional on and off the diamond, Jeter carries a certain magnitude of respect and his collectibles have recently sky-rocketed in value since his departure from the game in 2014.  Early career Derek Jeter items are one in particular that collectors have been eagerly in search of, and the scarcity has only increased the demand.

Offered up in this lot is truly a one of a kind Derek Jeter early career signed contract dated November 9, 1994.  The contract is between Jeter and Madison Sports for a Sports Card show appearance in Burlington Vermont.  The agreement was for a measly $2,000 for up to 800 autographs as well as mingling with show attendees, which pales in comparison to his six/seven figure Steiner Sports contract during his playing career into 2018.  The agreement also pre-dates his Major League Debut and makes this one of the earliest Derek Jeter contracts ever available in public auction or for private sale.  For comparison, his High School scouting report filled out by Dick Groh which sold in auction last year fetched six figure sums in each of its exchanges.  The three-page contract has been countersigned by the President of Madison sports and offers a very early Jeter signature in black ink.  The contract has been authenticated by PSA/DNA and JSA and comes with two full letters. In addition, the lot is also accompanied by a rookie era Derek Jeter signed 8x10 photo that has been authenticated by JSA.
