The Hall of Fame centerfielder Ken Griffey Jr. wore this Seattle Mariners batting helmet during the abbreviated 1994 MLB season. Griffey started the season hotter than the surface of Mercury, blasting 30 home runs in the Mariners first 65 games of the season. In 111 games in 1994, Griffey hit an American League-best 40 home runs, with 90 RBI and a .323 batting average. Griffey was an All-Star, a Gold Glove recipient, and a Silver Slugger honoree in 1994, finishing second in the American League MVP race to his fellow Hall of Famer Frank Thomas.
This offered batting helmet is navy, with a Mariners logo applied to the forehead. Griffey’s number “24”, a MLB logo, and an American Bat Company logo are applied to the rear of the helmet. Please note that the rear padding and the ear padding of this size 7 ¼ helmet are no longer attached to the helmet, however both pieces of padding are included with this lot. Griffey has signed the brim of this helmet in silver marker. This item shows light use and comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use and a LOA from JSA for Griffey’s signature (Z59967).
