Kurt Abbott began his tenure with the Marlins in high style by hitting a home run in his first game with the club. Facing the Dodgers Jim Gott in the 7th inning of the first game of the season, Abbott sent a ball to deep left-center that cleared the wall that put the Marlins ahead. The Louisville Slugger C271 model bat Abbott used to stroke his first homer as a Marlin is un-cracked and shows outstanding use. Abbott’s number “7” is handwritten on the knob and top barrel in blue marker. The barrel has been signed and inscribed with “First Marlin Home Run off Jim Gott-Dodgers 4-5-94.” The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13273) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10 and a LOA from Kurt Abbott. There is also a COA from JSA (V16326) for the signature.
