On August 6, 1994, Kurt Abbott had the kind of day all hitters dream of – a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Facing the New York Mets at Shea Stadium, Abbott tagged two different Mets pitchers for four consecutive singles and scored a run in the 4-3 Marlins’ win over New York. This is the bat Abbott used for the first 4-for-4 day of his career. The Louisville Slugger C271 model bat shows outstanding use with a handle crack. Abbott’s number “7” is written on the knob and barrel in black marker and he has signed and inscribed the barrel with “First 4 for 4 Game New York Mets 8-6-94.” The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13269) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8. There is also a LOA from Kurt Abbott attesting that this bat was used for the 4-for-4 game, plus a COA from JSA (V16327) for the signature.
